Hello, my name is Kaylee Kim and I am currently based in Los Angeles County studying for my BFA in Illustration at ArtCenter College of Design.

As a child, I never belonged to one place and moved from city to city and sometimes state to state. Although my lack of identity challenged me in the beginning, I began to embrace my uniqueness through exploration in my work. One of my goals has always been to find the niches and truths of experiences and emotions and to be in a search of authenticity. I have particular interests in the beauty of nostalgia, art history, philosophy, humor, education, literature, and culture.
My work's results are heavily reliant on my interaction with a piece. Cutting paper, articulating lines, using multimedia, collecting strange imagery from manuals and catalogues, and learning new subjects often are all part of my practice and contribute to the way that I work. By using classic stories or mundane life happenings in combination with my own perspective, I add complexity with collage, color, and texture.
